Our Mission
We provide family-centered and effective speech, language, feeding, and orofacial myofunctional therapy services to the New Kent, Virginia community and surrounding areas.
We believe in the power of family involvement and carryover, and offer individualized services that celebrate strengths, build upon areas of need, and address underlying factors impacting skill development. We value building relationships with other professionals as well as giving back to our community.
Our Services
Speech and Language Therapy
We address articulation disorders (including substitutions, distortions, phonological errors, and apraxia of speech), as well as improve the way children understand and interact with those around them. This includes children with autism, language delays, and other diagnoses.
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
We treat atypical, adaptive patterns that occur when there is a lack of normalized function within the musculature of the face, neck, and mouth. This includes mouth breathing, oral habits, tongue thrust, and more.
Feeding Therapy
We uncover and work through underlying obstacles to successful mealtimes through dynamic assessment, family involvement, and collaboration with other medical professionals.
Teletherapy
We provide our individualized speech, language, myofunctional, or feeding therapy sessions in real-time using a secure video conferencing system for appropriate clients within the state of Virginia.
About Us
Pathway Therapy Specialists was founded in New Kent, Virginia in 2021 by Rebecca Johnson, an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist. We provide individualized speech-language, feeding, and orofacial myofunctional evaluation and therapy services in the convenience of your own home as well as via teletherapy.
